Thanksgiving

This year we drove down to California for Thanksgiving. Once we had Caden, my family started driving here, but since we moved into the apartment last year, we've been driving down instead. I was worried about the trip with a 3-year-old, 3-month-old, and our 10-year-old neighbor squeezed in between the car seats, but it ended up working out nicely. It did take us an hour longer to get there though.

While I was packing, Caden got a blanket and cuddled next to the baby.

Playing Catch Phrase while the little ones are asleep.

Throwing rocks while I took a nursing break.

We got in Wednesday night and enjoyed my sister-in-law's delicious cooking. Thursday Justin and Dad went to play football while my mom, sister, and I cooked. We had everything done earlier than usual and it was all very wonderful, of course. Later my brother and his family came over for home videos, the Turkey Wobble, and dessert.

This is what happens when Uncle Justin visits.

Watching embarrassing home videos.

Caden was jumping on the mattress while holding his pants up!

Friday Justin and I saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I was not disappointed and cried a lot. We went to Walmart later, but there weren't many deal items left, and the deals weren't that great to begin with. We only got Quantum of Solace and Skyfall and a doctor's kit for Caden for Christmas. We ended the day at the Lyles's house so Caden could play with his cousins.

Saturday, Francine came over so we could meet each other's baby. Justin went golfing with my brother and his oldest son, and the rest of the family, my sister, and I went to see Frozen (Caden chose to go to the car wash and park with Grampa). Visually, it was one of the best Disney films I've seen, and we didn't even watch it in 3D. I heard it was better in 3D, so now I wish we had. Most of the songs were great, and I loved Olaf! The story itself though left much to be desired--too many plot holes and unanswered questions.

Sunday we went to church. I didn't want to take Caden to nursery since last time we visited he got upset by the unruly children. But I couldn't find the 4-year-old class, so I stayed with Caden in nursery. It was better than last time, but still unpleasant.

After lunch, we headed home. The boys took nearly 3 hour naps, and we made great time. We got home in 5 1/2 hours with no problems. It was a very fun weekend, especially for the boys with the unlimited fun and attention. I am very grateful my family loves them so much!
